Chaperone Policy

Chaperone Policy

We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment where both patients and staff can be confident that best practice is followed at all times. The safety and dignity of everyone is of paramount importance.

Your Right to a Chaperone

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present during any consultation, examination, or procedure where they feel one is required.

The chaperone may be a family member or friend. Alternatively, you may request a formal chaperone, who will be a trained member of staff.

Requesting a Chaperone

Wherever possible, we ask that you request a chaperone at the time of booking your appointment so that appropriate arrangements can be made and your appointment is not delayed.

If this is not possible, we will always do our best to provide a formal chaperone at the time of your request. However, in some cases, it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.

Please contact us for a Chaperone Request at:

When a Chaperone May Be Required

In certain situations, your healthcare professional may require a chaperone to be present during a consultation, examination, or procedure in accordance with our policy.

This may include consultations carried out by a doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional where it is considered appropriate.
